SESAME

Sesame seed comes from a plant native to Africa and India, although currently this plant is grown around the world, especially in Latin America. Bolivia has specific regions where the ground and climate are appropriate to cultivate it and obtain an excellent product. Sesame seed is characterized by its tasty nutty flavor, but also by its large amount of unsaturated fatty acids, calcium and proteins, on which methionine can be highlighted. Methionine is an essential amino acid that is needed to prevent osteoarthritis and guarantee proper muscle function.
Sesame seed is also very oily, thus, it is ideal to be processed into vegetable oil preserving all the nutritional properties.

Uses

As it is a superfood, Sesame is also commonly used in protein bars.
